There are several subspecies of Helianthus debilis in Florida. This one is vestitus, the west coast dune sunflower which occurs only in the Tampa Bay area and south into Lee County. There is also an east coast dune sunflower and the cucumber leaf dune sunflower that is found in central Florida and the panhandle plus many other states.
His entire life Paul Rebmann has ventured outdoors to enjoy nature.
