This photo of a great horned owl, titled "Don't Mess With My Chicks", won third place in the Florida's Birds! category of the Orange Audubon Society's 2007 Kit & Sidney Chertok Nature Photography Contest.
The image is titled Don't Mess With My Chicks because there were three owlets in the tree and this adult appeared to be staring me down to make sure that its young were not disturbed.
