Red-winged blackbirds - Agelaius phoeniceus - can be found in nearly all of North America, absent from the arctic region, and also present in many parts of Central America.
Alligator flag - Thalia geniculata - is also called fireflag or bent alligatorflag. It is found throughout in the central and southern Florida peninsula, plus a few panhandle counties and in Georgia, Alabama and Louisiana. The range includes the West Indies, Mexico and both Central and South America.
